Recruit Privacy Policy Principles

Recruit Co., Ltd. uses a diverse array of media, including magazines, the internet, and mobile content, in combination with events and counseling services to provide "meet your opportunity" services to a variety of companies and individuals. Based on the company's Code of Ethics, Recruit has developed the following Privacy Policy Principles to govern the handling of customer/employee personal information required for conducting business operations and has established a personal information management system to address its responsibilities as a corporation.

Principle 1.

Recruit Co., Ltd. shall, to the best of its ability, specify the purpose of the use of personal information and handle said information properly within the means necessary to achieving the intended purposes. Recruit shall also take measures to prevent the use of such information for purposes other than the original intent.

Principle 2.

Recruit shall collect personal information in a lawful and appropriate manner.

Principle 3.

Recruit shall not provide personal information to a third party without the express consent of the person concerned.

Principle 4.

Recruit shall strive to take the necessary and appropriate security management measures to prevent and rectify the leakage, loss, and destruction of personal information.

Principle 5.

Recruit shall take the utmost care to ensure that individuals who provide personal information are appropriately involved in its handling and shall strive to maintain any such information in as current and accurate a form as possible.

Principle 6.

Recruit shall comply with laws pertaining to personal information protection and shall establish internal regulations regarding the protection of personal information, review and revise these regulations on an ongoing basis, and observe the regulations accordingly.

Principle 7.

Recruit shall establish a contact center for customers to discuss and/or express grievances about the protection of personal information and shall work to respond accordingly.

Recruit Public Relations Department Privacy Policy

In handling personal information, Recruit Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Recruit") shall respect the privacy of individuals (hereinafter "Users") who use the Recruit corporate site (hereinafter "the Service") and take great care to manage user personal information in an appropriate manner.

Definitions

Personal information is information that identifies an individual by name, address, telephone number, email address, workplace, and/or date of birth. Personal information also includes any information that cannot be used to identify an individual by itself but may identify an individual when cross-referenced with other information.

Purpose of Use of Personal Information

Recruit shall only use personal information to respond to comments or inquiries from the corresponding individual. Recruit shall not use personal information for any other purpose.

Provision of Information to Third Parties

As a general rule, Recruit shall not provide personal information to third parties without the express consent of the User. Personal information shall only be provided to a third party after obtaining User consent and explicitly identifying the recipient and content of said information. However, in the following cases, Recruit may provide personal information without User consent, within the scope of applicable laws and regulations:

  • A. When Recruit judges that a User will put a third party at a disadvantage.
  • B. When disclosure of the information is necessary for the improvement of public health and the promotion of children's welfare and it is difficult to obtain User consent.
  • C. When Recruit is required to cooperate with national organizations or local governments, or parties entrusted by them, so that said parties may perform their duties as required by law, and obtaining User consent may interfere with said performance of duties.
  • D. When disclosure of personal information is required by a court, prosecutor's office, the police, bar association, consumer information center, or other organization with equivalent authority.
  • E. When the User explicitly requests disclosure or provision to a third party.
  • F. When the law permits disclosure or provision.
  • G. When Recruit subcontracts all or part of the duties of handling personal information within the scope necessary to fulfill its intended purposes.
  • H. When personal information is provided in accordance with a business succession via a merger or other such conditions, and is handled within the scope necessary to fulfill the intended purposes prior to the succession.

Changes to Personal Information

As a general rule, the User may ask Recruit to provide the "Purpose of Use of Personal Information," disclose, correct, make additions to, or delete the User's registered personal information, and cease the provision of the User's personal information to third parties. However, Recruit may not be able to comply with disclosure requests when doing so may endanger the life, physical well-being, property, or other rights/interests of the User or a third party, significantly interfere with Service operations, or violate the terms of relevant laws and regulations.
Recruit may be unable to comply with requests to cease the use of information when ceasing the use of the User's personal information or the provision of said information to a third party requires large expenses or cannot be completed easily and Recruit is required to take alternative measures to protect User rights and interests.

Use of Statistical Data

Recruit may use provided personal information to create statistical data that is processed so that individuals cannot be identified. Recruit may use such data without any restriction.

Accuracy of Personal Information

Recruit shall strive to perform accurate data processing of all provided personal information. However, it is the User's individual responsibility to ensure that his/her personal information is accurate and current.

Limitations on the Collection of Sensitive Personal Information

Recruit shall not collect personal information that includes the following content. This rule shall not apply to Users who provide such information voluntarily.

  • A. Information related to ideas, beliefs, or religion.
  • B. Information related to race, ethnic origin, family origin, legal domicile (excluding information regarding prefecture of residence), physical/mental disabilities, criminal record, or other content that may be a cause of social discrimination.
  • C. Information related to the right of workers to organize, collective bargaining, or other organizational activities.
  • D. Information related to participation in group demonstrations, the use of the right to petition, or the use of other political rights.
  • E. Information related to medical treatment or sexual activity.

Verification of Identity

When responding to requests for the disclosure, correction, deletion, or termination of use of personal information, Recruit shall verify the identity of the individual concerned by using information that identifies the individual (such as name, address, telephone number, date of birth, email address, membership number, or password).
Recruit shall assume no responsibility should a party other than the corresponding individual obtain and use said information.

Collection and Use of Unidentifiable Attribute Information / Action History

Recruit uses cookies to protect User privacy, improve user-friendliness, distribute advertisements, and obtain statistical data. Recruit may also use cookies, JavaScript, and other technology during member registration and other processes to obtain age, sex, occupation, resident area, and other attribute information that cannot be used to identify individuals (limited to information that cannot be used to identify individuals when cross-referenced with other information) or obtain history information on User activity on the site (accessed URLs, content, reference order, etc.). Cookies and action history do not include any personal information.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

Unless otherwise stipulated by law, Recruit may change the Privacy Policy at any time.
